We rarely find a Volkl ski that we don't like, and the Flair SC hasn't made an exception on this occasion - it's a powerful on-piste ski with fantastic edge grip that also allows for elegance and style on groomed, and not so well groomed, slopes.

The SC model is the one slightly down from the SC UVO - meaning a less aggressive ride, or at least one designed to be a little softer in the turn.

It's the kind of ski that will suit an advanced female skier looking to further improve their carving turns on groomed slopes. They hold an excellent edge in hard pack conditions, really producing confidence as each and every turn progresses. At higher speeds, they feel stable and solid - something you'd expect from Volkl but impressive all the same.

They aren't the lowest priced ski in this category but we feel value for money is there, considering what they give back.

The lightweight wood construction and tip rocker produce the usual combination of performance versus ease of turning.

One of our stand out female piste skis during our 2016 on snow ski test in Kuhtai, Austria.
