Dynastar have had a major overhaul of their piste offerings for the 2016-17 winter season and the new Intense series has a model for every level, 4 in total - the 10, sitting towards the top, one level down from the 12.
This ski appears to have it all though - fantastic edge grip, easy transition into the turns, a balanced ride through the arc and responsiveness edge to edge. For and advanced or expert female skier, you'd need no more should on-piste carving be your primary raison d'etre.
Our testers gave them top marks for edge hold on groomed slopes - both and higher and lower speeds. In terms of response, although they veer more towards longer radius turns, they are snappy and lively in shorter ones too.
The lightweight wood core combines with fibreglass and metal laminates, along with a tip rocker. The skis feel solid but there's a playfulness that surprises, especially considering the price of £385, which seems great value for a ski of this quality.
It was the stand out women's ski in the on-piste category for us during the 2016 on snow test and deserves our overall women's ski of the year award for sheer performance verses value - but without compromise in any department.
Naturally, off-piste, things aren't so fluid, but these skis aren't designed for powder snow conditions - they do cope well in moguls though, soft enough to absorb the bumps, yet responsive and light to make your life at least a little easier that it might well be.
