In case you're not familiar with them, Majesty are a Polish ski company started off making handcrafted freeride and freestyle skis nine years ago, and has now moved on to a wider stable of models. Although their raison d'etre is to produce freeride skis for the increasing demand in this category, Majesty have come up with some interesting all-mountain alternatives and the Thunderbolt certainly seems to be one of them.

The Thunderbolts have a full-length wood core with carbon-Kevlar stringers and wide twin tips with an extra sidecut and camber construction, designed to enable them to perform better on hard packed snow.

And indeed we found this to be the case - they were nimble and responsive on piste with good edge hold, especially in long radius turns and at slower speeds, although not as smooth as some others that we skied.

We didn't find them quite as easy to use off-piste or in crud, where they felt rather light, and consequently not as good at bashing through heavier snow; however, in lighter powder they were fun to ski.

We think they would make a good all-round seasonaires ski and if you spend a lot of your time hooning around on the piste but like to take the occasional trip into the powder you might want to check them out; and they do look very nice too.
