We snow lovers know, life doesn’t get much better than when you’re up in the mountains surrounded by the white stuff. Making the first tracks in some virgin powder, carving up the moguls or flying down some pristine corduroy, the mountains are the place to be. Add in some après-ski, cultural immersion, epic scenery and an atmosphere like no other, and you have the recipe for a fantastic holiday.
Despite all this though, there has been a decline in new skiers and boarders from the UK. Less are getting into the sport, and some more established skiers are lapsing or losing interest.
So why are Brits turning their backs on the snow? On the face of it, the thought of rocketing down a mountain with planks of wood and metal strapped to your feet in the freezing cold doesn’t seem to appeal to everybody. I know, weird, right?
Crystal is trying to tackle the problem with their new campaign, #GetMoreWinter. The aim is to overturn some common misconceptions about winter holidays and motivate more people to get out there and experience all that a holiday in the snow has to offer. They have made a video, created by Josh Monie and filmed in Val d’Isère at the end of last season, that flips these reservations around and shows that if you decide to spend your chill time in the snow, you won’t regret it.
Chris Logan, Managing Director Crystal Ski Holidays, explains, “We’re really excited to launch our new campaign video. It shows that a ski trip is about more than just the skiing itself. We’ve asked our customers what they love most about their winter experiences, then showcased these for everyone to see – from spending time with loved ones and fabulous food, to sunny days on the hill and snow ball fights. We filmed real people on their ski holidays, capturing real moments on the mountain”.
The #GetMoreWinter movement intends to prove to the public that anybody can enjoy a ski holiday, regardless of ability, style, budget or interests. Check out their campaign video below and happy holidays this winter!
