The new ski section features challenging glades and chutes for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders to slide, ride or thrill-seek through. Located on the sunny southern slope of the main ski area, it is accessible via the Kuma and Koala lifts and even incorporates a shuttle to ferry people back to the chairlift at base lodge.
One of the few resorts expanding their terrain for the winter 2010-11 season, Bear Valley now boasts 1,680 acres of skiable terrain, making it the seventh-largest ski resort in the state.
'We've pulled out all the stops to offer 400 new acres and 12 new trails that will provide intermediate and advanced skiers and riders with a new and exciting adventure,' said Jim Gentling, general manager of Bear Valley Mountain.
'All summer long we've been busy getting Bear Valley ready for the winter, and our new acreage is going to make this one of our best seasons ever,' he added.
