Mt Sunappe is Southern New Hampshire's largest ski area. It offers vacationers and day trippers a relaxed, scenic and high quality ski and snowboarding experience. The centre is owned by the state of New Hampshire but leased by Okemo Mountain (VT) since 1998, Mount Sunapee is a classic New Hampshire resort -- both wide and narrow trails, beautiful views and normally relatively uncrowded.
Mountain
Mount Sunapee offers skiing and riding for all abilities. Mount Sunapee is a great intermediate area but also provides terrain for the expert skier/rider. The new Children's Learning Center, allowing for easy access to the South Peak Beginner Area. Mount Sunapee is the largest ski area in southern New Hampshire. It's a great family mountain boasting plenty of long, groomed cruising trails, some challenging steep runs and glades as well as a 360° view. With its unique "South Peak" beginner area, separated from the main mountain, with five different lifts and 13 runs, Mount Sunapee offers the perfect learning environment. Experienced skiers will love cruising the two mile "Ridge" trail down from the summit or tackling the numerous black runs of the Sun Bowl and North Peak areas.
Families
Mount Sunapee Resort has earned the reputation as one of New England's top family resorts by providing a wide variety of innovative programs, incentives and special rates that make planning a family getaway easier than ever. Mount Sunapee's layout and trail network is family friendly all trails lead to one central base area. Families can ski and ride together from virtually any lift or go their separate ways to explore varied terrain. The Children's Learning Center Facility provides a great teaching environment to support all the children related learning programs. The Center is 5,315 square feet and is next to the South Peak novice area for quick and easy accessibility to the slopes. The Leaning Center building accommodates 130 children for the Snow Stars Program (ages 4-7) and 32 children for the childcare program (ages 1-5).
Eating Out
The Sunapee Region offers lots of dining options from fine dining to pub style food. On mountain Mount Sunapee offers three lodges with two in the base area and one on the summit. Dining options consist of cafeteria-style eating and upscale luncheons with sit-down waitress service.
Apres
Goosefeathers Pub is located upstairs in the Spruce Lodge. Goosefeathers offers upscale luncheons with sit-down waitress service and you may also get your favorite alcoholic beverages. Après-ski munchies offered after 3 p.m. and après-ski entertainment on weekends.
Boarding
With a combination of tabletops, hips, rails, fun-boxes, rollers, a quarter pipe and a 475-foot Super Pipe on two different trails, Mount Sunapee's terrain park is set up for the interests of every skier and snowboarder.
