The Rome Gang Plank has been designed to celebrate a collaboration of music and snowboarding, but did it serenade our test team?
The board is a true twin FreePop Rocker, which has a predominately flat profile with rocker either end. The Gang Plank is coined as a freestyle board that can be taken out of the park for the occasional powder session, but we found it somewhat lacking for powder riding and despite the rocker, there's not much float available.
Having said that, this is a fun board to jib around the mountain on and can hold an edge well. It's a soft freestyle board which makes it easy for buttering and to ride boxes in the park. It is quite effortless to spin and quite forgiving if you don't get it quite right. Single barrel bamboo HotRods are inserted in the base for pop and this works well for ground tricks.
It carries its speed well and soaks up the chatter using Rebound Sidewall technology, however, when carving at speed it just seemed to feel a bit lacklustre. .
We'd suggest that it's best suited towards an Intermediate/ Expert snowboarder as it is an easy board to ride and try new tricks on, but can also hold up when pushed harder.
