Good all round skis at a great price
Not stable at the very highest speeds

Wedze is the own brand name for Decathlon ski equipment and is known for good value versus quality products that are sold direct from manufacturer.

The XLD 900's are the top of the tree in the all mountain stable, designed for advanced to expert skiers who want to explore all terrain -with a 70% focus on piste and 30% off-piste.

In use we found them really easy to turn and super smooth on groomed slopes - there is almost a tendency to oversteer, but that's not a bad thing once you get used to them as they glide around the arc smoothly and effortlessly. Edge grip is very good, and at higher speeds they handle pretty well, but they are not as stiff as some of the higher end piste performance skis out there so at full blast they flap a little at the tips.

This is a minor niggle as really the skiers who will benefit most from the XLD 900 are the ones looking to improve their carve turns on groomed slopes at a moderate pace and possibly explore more variable off-piste terrain when the conditions suit. They handle moguls gallantly and are forgiving when technique isn't always 100% spot on.

For anyone looking for excellent value skis that perform above their price point the XLD 900 is a great choice. Easy to turn, nice and responsive, good edge grip and smart looking - at £300 with bindings it's hard to go wrong.
