The lively, fun and versatile nature of this classic all mountain frontside ski
Probably suits a lighter skier

The Stance 84 from Salomon is a classic all mountain, all terrain tool that is aimed at recreational skiers that want to progress away from the groomed slopes when the chance comes their way.

Within the full Stance collection, the 84 version sits towards the lower side of the width scale, with a 90, 96 and 102 building upwards. The Stance 84 is more suited to skiers that will mostly be staying on the piste, but like the versatility of a ski that can handle more varied terrain and light powder snow.

The poplar wood core and Titanal layer provides stability and control, making them suitable for fairly aggressive advanced skiers. But they are super easy to turn too and they never seem to feel like hard work.

Playful, responsive and lively, the Stance 84 is a fun ski on pretty much all groomed surfaces from ice to slush, with a solid edge grip and smooth turn transition. Take them into moguls and they perform well, without too much rebound and just enough power to really turn it on when needed, whilst being forgiving enough for those looking to progress their technique to at least feel they have a chance in those intimidating bump lines.

The Stance 84 enjoys the kind of chopped up snow you often find right on the sides of the marked runs and in powder they can handle pretty deep snow but they are out of their depth literally once it’s above the boot height – although many might say the longer version at 185cm’s works perfectly well.

This is a classic versatile all mountain ski for 75% on piste skiing that is fun and relaxed. Could suit ski instructors that spend their days teaching intermediates to advanced skiers looking for that entry level all mountain experience.
