The Salomon Q90 is the first ski in the new Q range from Salomon meaning it has the smallest sidecut. It’s a freeride ski but has enormous versatility around the mountain and it was a popular choice on our 2013 on snow ski test in Austria. It’s sure to be one of the biggest skis of the 2013-14 winter season.

The Salomon Q range is aimed at the freeride skier and there are four models available in total (Q90. Q98, Q105 and Q115).

The Q90, at 90mm under your boot, is the perfect entry freeride ski. Very versatile, responsive and easy to turn, it’s really well suited for someone looking to get into skiing powder and off-piste terrain, but wants something that will perform well on-piste too.

They produced consistently high scores on out on snow ski test in Austria and we really enjoyed the smooth turning ease and lightness of touch wherever we took them.

If you are looking to ski mostly off-piste with a little bit of groomed stuff in-between then you’re better off with one of the other models in the range, but if you like cruising the pistes, skiing some bumps and hitting the powder then the Q90 would be a great choice.
