Billed as an all mountain ski, there's no doubt some versatility to the Nordica NRGY 100 - it feels strong and stable both on and off-piste, in powder snow and on groomed runs, both in soft and harder packed snow conditions which we experienced whilst testing them out.
They hold an excellent edge grip on piste, feel stable at speed and perform powerfully in powder, crud and chopped up snow. But, they do feel a little damp at times and need to be pushed hard to get the most out of them - perhaps for this reason, suiting a heavier more powerful skier.
This makes them a little less user friendly than some of the other models in this category, but if you're very alpine orientated as a skier and enjoy skiing at speed, in all conditions, then you could benefit from the power, provided in part by the Titanium plate that's visible through the skis topsheet.
With the addition of a laminated wood core, tip rocker and underfoot camber, it all stacks up to become a serious ski that justifies its slightly above average price tag.
They look smart too and we think if you're an experienced, solid, demanding freeride skier who wants to lay down powerful carving turns on-piste too, then the Nordica NRGY 100 - as boring as the name might suggest - might be just the thing to spark up your interest during a weeks all mountain ski holiday or perhaps even a season in Japan.
