For aggressive skiers who want to literally charge around the mountain, mainly on groomed slopes, this ski from K2, with its appropriate name must be high on the list.
Whilst one of our testers found it easy to turn, another commented that at lower speeds, you need to work them hard, but once opened up they felt like a GS race ski. They are happier making fast, long GS style turns than short snappy ones, but they handle those with valour too.
Ambitious intermediates who want to step up a level could benefit from the powerful feel of the K2 Charger, but they are going to need to work hard to achieve the best results - for strong skiers who are already carving high-speed turns, they will be the feather in your hat, the favourite in the pack.
They are designed for the piste, although there's some versatility and handle moguls and softer snow well providing you enjoy a lively, responsive ride.
Again, they would suit higher level skiers that enjoy a ski that gives back what you put into it.
The wood core construction (Paulownia and Aspin wood) provides a strong torsional flex that gives them their power through the turns due to their heavy camber. The low level 'speed rocker' in the tip ensures easy initiation into the turn, but you get a real sense of the ski driving through the turn from start to finish.
Confident piste skiers will find the K2 AMP Charger a dependable, solid yet fun ski to own.
