Labelled as a ski for advanced and expert riders, we found it more suited to recreational skiers who want an easy-turning ski that prefers slower speeds.

'It didn't feel very stable at higher speeds,' said one tester. 'It would suit a recreational skier who wants to improve their carving on groomed slopes, but not an expert'.

Another commented, 'the steering feels all over the place and that wasn't fun to ski on. They do perform well in the moguls though and felt more responsive and lively than on flat, hard-packed snow'.

The Fischer Progressor 800 does hold an edge well though and it has consistently impressed our team on previous tests.

Conclusion - a good ski for anyone who wants to carve their turns out on blues and reds at slow-to-medium speeds.
