As you can see from our ratings, the Chapter 106 scored a consistent 4 out of 5 right across the board, mainly due to the fact that it does everything well, but doesn't quite reach the heights of perfection.
That's no bad thing though - a freeride ski that has consistent performance in powder, crud and even on the piste (bearing in mind that our scores reflect the fact that piste skiing isn't what it's designed for) is not to be sniffed at, since consistency in all conditions means you know what to expect wherever you are on the mountain.
The Chapter 106 features a five-point sidecut which allows for tighter turns - good in trees or moguls and useful for short radius turns on piste.
Off-piste they felt smooth and predictable at both high and low speed and in long and short turns, and carried us through crud and chopped up snow without any undue concern.
They feel pretty stiff in the flex but at the same time, turning seems easy and therefore anyone looking to get into freeride and off-piste skiing might very well make good use of these as they grow in confidence and technical ability - they will stay with you all the way.
A good seasonaires friend that can be used on most days in the mountains.
