Few ski manufacturers want their rides to be one-trick ponies and Faction is no exception, with the women-specific Ambit trying to tick more than just the freestyle box.
There's no doubt the Ambit is a fun Park and Pipe ski, easy to turn underfoot as well as in the air with a true twintip that means you can happily land whichever way round you desire.
That comes from a poplar and ash wood core which is both light and reactive to help popping off the deck, but is still solid enough to allow you to stomp those landings with confidence.
But Faction are also keen for the Ambit to have the versatility to encourage riders into the occasional hike, in order to hit those jumps and bumps that mother nature has kindly provided away from the human-crafted obstacles.
At 1.55kg for a 164 length ski, you should be able to hoick a pair of these over your shoulder for a short boot pack and still have the energy left to enjoy your reward on the way down. With the Ambits also coming in at 86 width, there's enough float underfoot to allow the occasional venture away from the groomers.
Our tester felt the Ambits were easy to manoeuvre and felt stable and smooth too. A good all-round ski for park, piste and powder.
