The Speedzone Ti16 at first glance is a bit of an enigma - both in the ways they're presented and in the way they perform.
Firstly, we were a little confused by the name and the number system Dynastar uses for this range - but we were informed that 16 is the top model in the range that also has a 6, 7, 9, 10 and a 12. The Ti signifies a Titanal layer. The binding that comes with them is an R21 SPX 12, the R21 being the racing plate that the binding is mounted to.
Putting all that aside, let's talk about how the skis perform. The Speedzone 16Ti is simply, quite fantastic. Yes, a little aggressive in the turn at higher speeds, due to the 13m radius and 67mm waist but where they really excel is on the shorter, technical turns when mixing it up on the piste.
Dynastar's top end piste skis are great fun, snappy, responsive and do everything asked of them. They allow you to put the tip into the turn with absolute confidence, drive straight through the turn and avoid unnecessary punishment on the way out, unless at high speeds, when you need to reign them in a little.
They're skis that love to turn, turn and turn some more, be it carved or steered. When they are worked and given what they require in terms of technical skills, they give back to you in spades and the slight rocker also makes them great fun in the moguls.
The Speedzone 16 Ti are pure bred piste skis with superior edge hold. They give you so much all day and ask for nothing more than a quick wax in the evening - so they can do the same again tomorrow. Easy life.
