The Intense 8 is an inexpensive piste ski aimed at recreational resort skiers. Featuring Dynastar's powerdrive technology, the Intense 8 claims to be competent in all conditions. The technology combines a traditional wood core with a composite sidewall making for great versatility. The sidewall is made up of a soft, a hard and a dynamic material to reap the benefits of all three. This composite promises a smooth ride in all terrain, dampening vibrations with superior precision, control and fluidity.
I found the Intense 8 to be a little short, coming in a maximum length of 158cm. This allows for easy turn initiation and handling for the more novice skier but may not be suitable for taller ladies like myself. The ski also features an early rise tip to further improve turn initiation, with a narrow waist for easy edge to edge manoeuvrability.
The Intense 8 features Active Air Light core construction, reducing weight by 17%. This is not only great for carrying to and from the slopes, but also for keeping legs fresh all week.
As a novice to intermediate model, the Intense 8 is suitably forgiving on piste and would be an excellent confidence builder for somebody looking to improve their technique with ease. Recommended for ladies wanting to enjoy trips away resort skiing without breaking the bank.
