Sneaking in at number 5 in our Freeride category, the Cham 97 from established ski brand Dynastar made the cut mostly for its off-piste performance.
This ski could not be more suited for big powder days with its wide tip creating good floatation in deep snow. It’s lively, responsive and just loves to get into the soft stuff, turning with ease and providing a stable platform for comfortable riding.
On-piste, scoring was high for short radius turns but went down for longer turns at higher speeds, with that wide tip not enjoying the hard pack groomed snow too much.
But for recreational to advanced skiers looking to improve in the powder, or experts that just want to have lots of fun, you won’t go wrong here.
