We think these skis are so pretty! At least that's the view of one our testers who has a love of geometric design and bright colours. Although you might be tempted to buy them just for the top sheet we were also impressed by their performance.
This is an accessible and progressive ski that tends to favour softer off-piste conditions. Saying that, the Ova Birdies were 'grippy' and responsive on-piste and surprisingly effective when turning in icy conditions.
It's a smooth-turning ski that is soft and light in the powder and gets the job done on-piste too. An early rise tip and softer tail means the ski has a shorter turning radius but isn't too aggressive side-cut wise.
So although it will hold its own on-piste, this is an all mountain ski weighted towards those wishing to dabble on more variable terrain.
Their width underfoot (85cm) also contributes to a slightly more freeride feel. The Ova Birdies would be ideal for a skier looking to start spending more time off-piste and develop their powder skiing technique.
