If a six-year-old little girl can lie on the frozen Swedish sea making snow angels in -10 C, then you know the clothing they are a wearing is working. But that’s not the whole story as to why we’ve scored Spotty Otter’s Down Parka a perfect 5.
Quite simply, it is impossible to fault.
The outer is made from a breathable four-way stretch, soft-touch, DWR treated material which is water proof to over 10,000mm, made of 88 percent nylon and 12 percent spandex, with a PU membrane.
Inside, responsibly sourced, 90/10 premium duck down fill insulation is kept in place and protected by a 100 percent nylon lightweight durable ripstop fabric.
Functional features include a removable adjustable hood with removable faux fur trim, two lower cargo pockets, two upper fleece-lined, easy-access hand-warming pockets, Velcro cuff adjusters, inner snow cuffs to keep the draft and snow out, solid and easy-to-use YKK zips and reflective logos front and rear, zips and zip pull for visibility, as well as a deep poppered storm flap down the front, and a micro-fleece band around the neck for next-to-skin comfort.
It’s difficult to imagine a more comfortable, fully featured kids’ winter coat than this, with sumptuous warmth and comfort. What’s more, it comes in four colours, at least two of which are boy friendly.
