Looks good, feels good
Relatively loose cut may not suit everyone

The Ionic is an extremely comfortable quarter-zip long-sleeve base layer which incorporates a new manufacturing technique to reduce the number of seams, and as we all know less seams equals less chance of chafing, as well as reducing the weight and improving the packability of the garment.

Made from the company's super-fast wicking and drying 'QMC' (Quick Moisture Control) fabric, the Ionic is also treated with silver-chloride to prevent the build-up of odour-producing bacteria, which means you can wear it for longer periods without having to wash it - not necessarily such a big deal on a ski holiday, but useful if you're doing multi-day trips into the mountains. The Ionic also features 'body mapped' mesh inserts in areas of high perspiration.

The cut of the garment is quite loose, so it may not suit everyone although we liked the more relaxed feel and it works just fine when layering, as well as looking more relaxed when worn in après-ski situations.

The model we reviewed also came in an attractive faded purple/green colourway, making this an adaptable base layer that we'd be happy to wear in pretty much any circumstances, and one that would also work in cooler conditions in summer.
