The XT-ONE goggles won an ISPO award earlier this year for their Custom ID-Fit technology, which aims to precisely match each pair of goggles to every individual's facial features.
Salomon analysed structure, movement, and soft tissue in the face to develop these goggles, then incorporated this into an articulated frame with varied foam densities which are mapped to specific areas of the face to create a soft, comfortable feel.
The XT-ONE goggles also offer an OTG (Over the Glasses) fit and the lens can be changed, making for remarkably versatile goggles that will work for most skiers and boarders in most conditions.
However, changing the lens is a bit of a faff and is best done inside rather than on a chairlift or the side of the piste; we dropped ours as we were changing it, which would not have been good had we been 30m up on a chairlift.
In use we found the XT-ONE goggles offered particularly good lateral vision, partly due to the attractive minimalist frame design, whilst the fit with or without helmet was comfortable and secure.
They are also good-looking goggles, and given their versatility in terms of both fit and function, along with interchangeable lenses and a not-unreasonable price, the XT-ONE goggles are well worth checking out.
