Far from being a quick 'slop on wax and go' this kit has everything you need for full servicing as well as repairs of your base and edges.
Must haves include a couple of sticks of p-tex for filling deep dings and gouges, an edge tuning file with standard 90 degrees plus 88-degree option for aggressive carving, a bar of wax, plastic wax scraper and a very nice purpose made, temperature controlled iron. The other items aren't must haves for basic ski and board servicing but they turn a basic kit into a comprehensive one. These include a file for filing down p-tex repairs as well as a metal scraper for wax scraping and final prep of p-tex repairs, a wire brush for cleaning up your files, pocket stone for removing edge burrs, and scuff pad for final buffing of your board or skis post wax. This is all housed in a substantial padded carry bag that will make you feel like a surgeon every time you pick it up.
Everything in the kit is of a good quality, you could of course piece everything together yourself but having everything to hand in one bag is super convenient.
A standard ski or snowboard service will cost you upward of £35 in a ski shop so it's obvious that if you use your skis and board often enough then this kit will save you money.
