Vail to connect Canyons to Park City
Vail plans to connect Canyons to Park City ski resort next summer, creating a ‘super resort’ which would become the biggest connected ski area in the US.
The ambitious project, planned for the summer of 2015, will include new lifts,
restaurants and snow-making capabilities.
The move comes following a heated battle for control of one of the biggest ski areas in the USA, with Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) being sold – reluctantly – to its rival Vail Resorts for $182.5m (£113.7m).

But you still won’t be allowed to snowboard in Alta Ski Resort
A determined group of snowboarders in the US has failed in its legal attempt to force Alta and Deer Valley, Utah – which will be connected when Canyons and Park City get linked up – to allow them to use the popular resort.
They were claiming the snowboard ban violates their basic constitutional rights to be treated equally.
Alta Ski Resort is one of only several US ski resorts that stubbornly continue to resist allowing access to snowboarders.
