France has received the lion's share of powder over the past few days - in La Clusaz there was 72cm of new snow on the mountains and in Courchevel there were big falls ahead of the FIS World Cup Giant Slalom, which took place on Saturday. There have been further flurries since across many French resorts and there is more expected this week.Lech, Zurs and St Anton, in Austria, received snow on Saturday but there was milder weather too making the lower pistes soft. Most Austrian resorts can expect to see fresh snow at some point this week.

Switzerland has fared well. Verbier is reporting excellent conditions and in Zermatt, where the sun is currently shining, the pistes are in "very good" condition. Over in Italy there's been less new snow across the region but the pistes are still faring well and new snow falls are expected over the course of this week in Cervinia, Courmayeur and La Thuile.

In Colorado, USA, conditions are generally good although the new snow that is expected this week will be welcomed. In California, Mammoth is still recording the deepest snow - there's 195cm at the top of the mountain - and there's lots to come this week. In Canada, Whistler is waiting for around 70cm to fall and there's widespread snow expected in BC and Alberta.
