The refurbished gondola uplift is now also the longest in Slovenia taking skiers and snowboarders from the Bovec valley at 436m to the central part of the ski slopes at 2,202m. The resort tops out at 2,293m, with views stretching as far as the central Alps and the Adriatic Sea.
As the only ski resort in the country with skiing at over 2,000m, Kanin has the longest season, staying open until May. It also has some of the best natural snow, getting over 5m of snowfall in past winters.
What's more, with new pistes and uplifts on the other side of the Sedlo summit, the resort is fully connected to the Italian resort of Sella Nevea. The two resorts now meet at the border on the 2,076m summit of Prevola and both can be skied under the same lift pass.
In total, the connected resort now includes two circular cableways, one gondola cable car, five draglifts and four chairlifts servicing 6km of blue runs, 22km of red and 2km of black.
The other five resorts which can be skied under the Slovenian Alps Ski Pass are Kranjska Gora, Krvavec, Vogel, Cerkno and 3Laendereck ski center in Austria.
