Great things are expected of the Russian resort, with Sochi predicted to become one of the 21st century’s leading ski destinations. The ski lifts under construction promise several that will be among the biggest, fastest and best in the world. With two winters to go before the Olympics the first resorts in the ski area are nearing completion, and early birds will have a chance to see how things are shaping up.
Sochi is the most eye-catching of Crystal’s new offerings, but the firm is also introducing two resorts in Finland, eight in Austria, three in Italy and one each in Slovenia and USA. It has also added more than 80 hotels, six chalets and 15 flight routes as well as the new Crystal Adaptive programme in association with the charity Disability Snowsports UK, to provide accessible ski holidays for people with disabilities to a selected range of resorts and accommodation across Europe and the USA.
