And the spectacular views continue once you’ve checked in – if you can resist drooling over the interiors, given a makeover by Swiss designer Carlo Rampazzi, famed for his creativity in colour, pattern and light. Centrepiece of the 80-year-old Tschuggen Grand is its spa – a 5,000-square-metre oasis of pampering set over four floors. The design has been kept minimal, using just local granite, light maple wood and glass. The Grand also boasts its own private monorail which whisks you up to the slopes in only two minutes. Oh, and did we mention there’s a choice of five restaurants?
