Apparently Graphene is the lightest, thinnest and strongest material ever discovered on the planet and now it's in Head's Instinct Raw all mountain ski after successfully playing its part in the women's Joy collection.

For obvious reasons, the first impression of these skis is the fact they are very light in weight - this immediately makes you feel that they are more suited to an improving recreational skier.

But once you step into them and start making turns, they feel much much stronger on the snow than they do in your hands. Edge grip is very good on hardpacked snow and they enjoy the snappy short radius turns with a quick rebound producing a really fun and lively ride.

At higher speeds, during long radius turns, the tip gets a little flappy but they still feel stable underneath the foot and at no time are you getting twitchy about their stability.

They scored consistently highly during our ski test, although we feel they are more an on-piste carver than anything else, although they did seem like the moguls too.

They're a ski that would suit suit someone who likes to mainly stick to the marked runs and wants the versatility of a piste ski that can handle moguls, a bit of powder and some of the chopped up stuff at the side of the slopes. Someone that likes an easy turning ski but wants to ramp things up too.

We believe an instructor would also get a lot out of the Instinct Raw with its versatile nature.
