Go anywhere design
One of the more expensive portable chargers

The small but beautifully formed Powermonkey Explorer 2 is designed to withstand the harshest environments in a bid to keep your tech charged during your adventures.

The Explorer 2 is equipped with a 6000mAh lithium-ion battery – enough juice to recharge an iPhone 5 up to three times, a GoPro Hero3+ four times and a Garmin Edge 1000 four times. It can also charge tablets although on test we only got a 57% charge into our Asus Transformer from the full 100 charge of the Powermonkey.

We liked the robust design with its cylindrical anodised shell, strong enough to resist the force of the mighty Land Rover Defender bearing down upon it and its bath-plug style sealing system which makes it impenetrable to water ingress for up to 30 minutes to a depth of 1 metre.

If you’re planning a multi-day adventure and the above capabilities aren’t enough for you then its well worth taking a look at Powermonkey’s wearable Solarmonkey which harnesses the sun’s rays to charge up your Powermonkey and other devices even during your adventures.
