Honest Snow Reports

  • Queenstown
Rain all day yesterday right up to the top of The Remarkables. It looks like Spring is finally upon us. Slightly clearer weather today and some snow expected higher up overnight. Let's hope so!
  • El Colorado, Chile
We've had some snow finally this week, about 40cm or so. Hopefully this will be enough to keep us going until the 20th september when they are due to close. We have a week full of sun ahead of us now with quite high temperatures... so hopefully it won't melt away all the snow!
  • Queenstown
Conditions are pretty good in Queenstown at the moment, especially as we near the end of the season. Both the Remarkables and Coronet Peak have been topped up with light snowfalls most evenings. Local Heli companies are reporting some of the best conditions all season with bluebird powder conditions throughout Otago. With more snow expected from Wednesday onwards, conditions are top notch!
  • Tignes, France
No less than 24hrs after the summer season officially finished and the glacier closed for a month, it's 4 degrees in the village and light snow is blowing about - it's still August! Nothing lying but will give the Grande Motte a good boost
  • Utah
Things are starting to cool down and winter is trying to make an appearance in Utah, for some resorts at least. Snowbird is currently offering early-bird deals on its season passes , as well as some of its Mountain School products. The Canyons have expaned their snowmaking, added more lifts and increased the amount of terrain available. According to their website there's a new 20 million gallon mid-mountain reservoir to make snow while the sun shines. Alta , Solitude , Brighton ,...
  • Thredbo, Australia
50cm in the past 24 hours has made for another big powder day. So much snow has fallen in the past week that it is hard to find a favourite run as the whole mountain is buried and everything is great.
  • El Colorado, Chile
So the snow really sucks here, its been so hot that a lot has melted away so there's mud everywhere. On cold days its pure ice. The forecast doesn't look good, there's no significant snow due in the next week, maybe the odd centimetre if we're lucky. They are thinking of closing if there is no more snow, and possibly staying open at weekends. Its dumping in the south though apparently!! Sabrina
